We are the Young Minds Institute or YMI The YMI project is a collective of young minds, hungry for knowledge, eager to express themselves, focused on the future. The YMI project brings together young thinkers, artists, poets, essayists, activists, journalists, lyricists who all seek the answer to the ultimate question: YMI? Why am I here? What does it all mean? Where are we going? And what can we do about it?
We bring together visionaries, seekers of truth, concerned citizens. We are looking for new ideas, small solutions to big problems, fearless and selfless ambition. We are looking for the kind of people who change the world. We need doers, not watchers. We need individuals, not cliques or clichés. We need young minds with a world view, a vision for how the world could be.
Most of all, we need writers. For its inaugural undertaking, the YMI book project needs 300 writers under age 25. We need you to write about your lives. Tell us what it's like to be you. Paint a portrait of your world with words. Come and meet other young people. Debate and discuss whatever topics you like, and then passionately express your observations and conclusions.. In the end, we will publish your work as a book. The vast majority of published writers in this country are over age 25. So where are the young voices? What's going on in the young minds? Do young people have anything to say?
We believe young people do. We are committed to publishing a book of the young, by the young, for the young.
